It has been a week since returning from Costa Rica but it feels like months! Time is dragging along and im getting more and more bored. The good thing about this is that I'am ready to return home. Today I called up American Airlines and changed my flight. So I no longer have to kill another week here in dreary London because now, im leaving on Monday! Thats 3 days away! Crazy!
I almost wish I had a few extra days but to be honest I wouldnt get anything done that I havent already done, or see anything I havent already seen. So I'd just be spending more money...
The start of this week was full of sunshine and warm weather. I spent as much time as possible lazing about in Hyde Park soaking up the sun and reading my book, 'Extacy' by Irvine Welsh. Ive been trying to buy healthy organic foods but its been tough. I bought a pack of wholegrain cereal that was pretty expensive but having budgeted £8 per day I figured I could afford it as it should last a week at least. The following morning I was eager to try out my new cereal but found that someone else had beaten me to it. The packet had been opened and half the contents eaten! My glass that I have been carrying around since Edinburgh had also been stolen, wankers!
Yesterday I caught up with Linda at hyde Park. She was there for a work function. I joined in on a game of Rounder which is like baseball but with slightly different rules. My team was feilding first and I got a few people out, star of the team! But when it was my turn to bat, with a miniture sized bat, I swang at the ball a little too hard. I missed the ball entirely and the bat slipped out of my hand and went flying over third base and almost hit a passing dog, oops!
After the games we headed back to the office for a bbq and more drinks. Being on tihs new health kick and avoiding meat has really had an affect on me and the sigt of animal flesh cooking on a BBQ no longer gets my tummy hungry, it actually repulses me! and im glad it does too, im feeling much healthier from hardly eating meat at all over the last few months.
I finished my book quite quickly from all the sun soaking at Hyde park so did a google search for London bookshops. The first to come up was Borders Books and Music Cafe on Oxford Street. Id recently searched for other shops and Oxford street had stood out for me so this bookstore was perfectly located. I got a copy of 'Skinny Bastard' which was hidden behind another book and so was like a hidden treasure. I flicked through it and was suprised to find that the authors were talking about all the healthy eating things ive been looking at over the last few months, perfect! It only took 2 days to read. Easily the fastest ive ever read an entire book.
Not much else to write about and my time in this dodgy internet cafe is about to end.
Tomorrow I have to be up relatively early to catch a flight to Glasgow for the Colours fest. It's been over a month since I bought the ticket and finally the day has come. Im super excited to go! Im really looking forward to Mauro Picotto's closing set in the Meganite arena. I last saw Picotto in 2003 and it was the best live DJ performance I have seen. The only other DJ that has come close to impressing me as much was Sander Klieneberg who sadly is not playing at Colours. There will be however, six arenas full of top quality DJs including a Tidy areana which is a hard House label and one of my favourites no less!
Monday im flying back home, I cant wait!
